My Awkward Family
One of the challenges of the Christian faith is the realization that God, in his sovereignty, doesn’t always make sense. Nowhere is this more evident than in the circumstances of your birth. God planned for you to be born in a particular place, at a particular time, to particular parents. If you have a great family, that’s easy enough to believe, but if your family isn’t that great, the idea of God consigning you to less than great circumstances is tough to take. Maybe your family isn’t all you wish it was. Maybe your parent was neglectful or abusive. Maybe you grew up without a mom, a dad, or siblings. Or maybe your grandparents were distant and uninvolved. Still, that is where God put you, and he must have had a reason. You may never know what that reason is, but this you can know: you can become the _____________ you always wished you had.
