MEYOUSEX

Me. You. Sex. In our culture sex is distorted into a self-centered act that isn’t about giving, but getting. Another person isn’t even required for sexual pleasure. Porn promotes sexual isolation. So does the $15 billion Americans spend annually on sex toys. But sex was never meant to be enjoyed independently. It was meant to be enjoyed with another person: with one’s spouse. Hidden in the intersection of MEYOUSEX is the word us. God created sex and declared that it was good. Two become one flesh. A godly sex life reflects our Creator. The intimacy and community the triune God enjoys as Father, Son and Holy Spirit is reflected in the sexual intimacy of husband and wife. As it was intended when God created it, sex is both godly and good. But subtract your spouse and sex becomes a cheap facsimile. Worse still, subtract God and sex becomes idolatry.
