Mistakes Were Made

The Book of Numbers tells a depressing story of the Israelites making mistake after mistake. They complained. They rebelled. They opposed God’s leaders. They mistrusted God. They tried to do things their own way. They attempted to evade responsibility their actions. Through it all God remained faithful, and he was able to raise up the next generation to obediently follow him. When people make mistakes today, we too try to avoid responsibility for our actions. The truth is that mistakes have consequences for everyone involved. Even so, God offers hope for us through Jesus! Though we face the results of our mistakes every single day, we are not defined by them. We are God’s redeemed people!
