IT CAME FROM WITHIN --As children we were taught to monitor our behavior but rarely, if ever, were we taught to monitor our heart. As long as we say and do the right things, we’re tempted to believe that all is well. And yet our heart reveals who we really are. In spite of our efforts at corralling our behavior, eventually the heart – the real you – will outpace your attempts to modify everything you say and do. As long ass I struggle with “heart disease” on the inside, I will continue to struggle with my behavior on the outside. This series will look at four monsters that lurk beneath the surface. They infect the heart and even when we can modify our behavior so everything looks okay on the outside, they are nevertheless hardening us on the inside – sometimes to the point that we are in danger of a spiritual heart attack.
